Value Stream Leader

The Value Stream Leader is responsible for increasing the ratio of value to non-value added activity and eliminating waste in the overall Value Chain from start to finish, and ensuring that the Value Stream meets or exceeds customer requirements. Work closely with Management, Engineering, Procurement, Customer Support, and other functional areas within the organization.
Duties and responsibilities
Drive continuous improvement within the value streamAnalyze problems, account for variances, drive root cause, and implement improved methods and proceduresConduct fact-based problem analysis, utilize RCCM, and implement CA/PACreate, review, and update process improvement plans, SOP s, and standard work instructionsAssure that appropriate equipment is provided, adequately maintained, and safely operatedActive participation in short-term and long-term budget preparation and CapEx executionMaintain CBS Daily Management boards and meetingsLeading JSA, Safe Home Howden, and other activities focused on safety within the value streamAdherence to all EHS standards and compliance with company policies in regards to maintaining a safe working environment
Be an innovator of positive change that favorably impacts safety, profitability, inventory turns, OTD, lead-time, and quality
Prepares a future state map that uses lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve process value in the short to mid-term. Creates a plan to achieve the future state and leading implementation of the plan
Qualifications/Personal Attributes
BS in Management Science, Engineering, or other technical discipline + 6years in a manufacturing environment (or
)Experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably leading a value stream or SBUKnowledge and ability to apply lean techniques to eliminate waste and improve processes within value streamInnovator of change and extreme desire for continuous improvementCertified Six Sigma Green Belt preferred This person should have exemplary leadership abilities, and be able to motivate individuals in the value stream to change - even if their individual areas do not personally receive the benefits. Make decisions based on data, not opinion. They must be open to ideas from employees for improvement and understand the working culture within the value stream. They should be able to create and manage a value stream plan. It is also important to be able to communicate with senior executives to achieve buy-on to major changes. Create the right levers (or crisis) to show why urgent change is required. They must have the ability to interact with customers and suppliers to ensure that win-win changes are made, while increasing value Must be able to function and excel in a matrix organization
Working conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. PPE (Steel toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection) is required while working in the factory. Normal first shift hours are expected, but may need to flex hours at times to facilitate shift change over communication. Reasonable overtime can be expected
Physical requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position involves sitting, walking and lifting less than 10 pounds. Limited travel is expected

Current scope involves machining/fabrication/assembly/weld/test/paint/pack/ship/OSP Direct reports: Production Mgr, Supervisor(s), Engineering Mgr and Engineers, Maintenance Supvsr, Technicians Indirect Reports determined by workload, currently 2 full shifts Will have CBS and upper management support

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
